We are strengthening our HSE leadership in Germany and are looking for an experienced HSE Manager (m/f/d) to drive HSE excellence across our operations.

Your Role
As a visible HSE leader, you will promote strong HSE culture and provide high‑level expertise to support Knauf Industries’ HSE performance, risk analysis, trend monitoring, and improvement initiatives.
You will ensure full compliance with German HSE legislation through a proactive, prevention‑focused approach.
You will ensure a structured, consistent implementation of Knauf Industries’ HSE strategy and objectives.
You will design and deploy HSE programs that strengthen culture, awareness, learning and performance across all plants.
You will lead and support continuous improvement and cultural change initiatives, using your strong technical and regulatory knowledge.
You will develop new ways of training and communication to increase awareness and compliance with HSE standards.
You will ensure accurate, timely HSE reporting, preparing performance updates for country and global leadership teams.
Your Responsibilities
Reporting to the Country General Manager and functionally to the Global H&S Manager, you will elevate the visibility and impact of HSE across the German organization.
You will maintain and improve HSE documentation within the integrated management system, ensuring relevance and compliance.
Using your expertise in working at height, LOTOTO, vehicles, lifting operations, and machine safety you will lead the implementation of company standards in Germany.
You will develop and coordinate the country’s HSE training system.
You will capture, share, and promote leading practices and lessons learned to drive continuous improvement.
You will lead incident and accident reviews, ensuring robust root‑cause analysis and follow‑up actions.
You will coordinate occupational health & safety and environmental risk assessments.
You will frequently visit plants across Germany and occasionally other regions, as required.
You will represent the company in interactions with regulators, insurers, auditors, and external partners.
Your Profile
Minimum 5 years of HSE experience in an industrial environment, including audits, inspections, equipment safety, and incident investigation using structured root‑cause methods.
Experience in organizations operating under ISO 14001 and ISO 45001 management systems.
Proven experience in leading teams or coordinating people, fostering a collaborative and learning‑focused environment.
Strong communication skills, people‑oriented, positive, analytical, and solution‑driven.
Comfortable working in an international environment; English at intermediate/advanced level.
Holder of all required German HSE certifications, with strong knowledge of national legislation and its practical application.
International HSE certifications such as NEBOSH, NVQ, IOSH, or equivalent are a strong advantage.
German and English language skills: min. C1 level
